Subasemblies+making payloads
How do you make a subassembly? And how would I put a preexisting rocket (or item saved as a seperate vehicle) into a space plane with a cargo bay?(without rebuilding the vehicle/playing with the lack of parts snapping together for a time).

If you click on the arrow at the top left of the builder (I know subassemblies have to be unlocked in Career Mode first by upgrading a specific building), and click the rocket (again, I believe this), you can create a subassembly. You can save your current craft as a subassembly, and then open that from the same tab in a new builder and attach it to your new craft.

Press the arrow at the top of the parts category list to reveal the "Advanced" portion of the UI which contains new parts sorting buttons and subassemblies. Open up the subassemblies tab, then pick up the section of your craft which you wish to use as a subassembly and drag it to the drop zone on the left.

In 0.25 you were unable to include the ship's root module in a subassembly. Not sure if they changed that. If you want to use an entire ship such as a lander as a subassembly, it may be necessary to start building from an extra command pod root so you can then include your actual command pod in the sub.

Nope. Career has been made boring with various more or less pointless restriction, but not to that point (it would just worsen gamplay, not alter difficulty, since you can recopy your craft by hand)

Very good explanation.

In 0.25 as in 0.90, you can include the ship's root module in a subassembly. However, the root of the subassembly (the part you select to save a section of your ship) must have a free attachement point, which can be annoying if you're not used to root consideration in .25 and before, and manipulation as of 0.90. Are you?

To put things in a cargo bay, just add a decoupler to the attachment point that is in the cargo bay and build on from there. Really simple.
