Docking Ports - Which Way?

It's been a while since I did this and I've totally forgotten.

Here's a picture of the open docking port on my new space station. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=437088795 That's the port I'm going to use to dock my new station module (or one that looks the exact same on the flip side).

So is my docking port on my new station module http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=437091585 facing the right way to dock? Or do I need to reverse it?

So. I might be able to help. Which port are we talking about, on the upper image. (BTW: I notice that design, you've been watching Scot Manley havn't you). The lower image has a docking port closest to the bottom of your science lab but you need to make sure of three things:

• Put the docking port on the side of your part you want to connet to the station, in this instance, i think it would look beter like you have it.
  
• Make sure that when you are putting your docking port on in the VAB, it is the same size as the one on the station (docking port, docking port jr, docking port senior)
  
• When putting on docking ports in the VAB, the larger side (or the one with the green ball on it) always is the one that attaches to the craft, the smaller side goes outwards and away from the craft.

Based on your lower image, if thats where you are putting it, it looks like its fine. Just be sure its the right size. It also looks like you did it correctly in the upper image. You shouldn't have any trouble.

Am I seeing these pics wrong? Looks like your about to try and connect a DockingPort to a DockingPort Sr....
