How far out is space around kerbin
I got the mission get research from space around kerbin.

You need to be in an orbit above 70km
Melfice Apr 30, 2015 @ 2:18am
As soon as you've left the atmosphere, you're good to get science.

Somewhere in the 69-70km region. I don't think you need to get orbit - just get over 70k, do experiment, then either transmit or return to Kerbin.

Then you went too far, I think.

then this mission is bugged :(

I doubt it. If you're out past the sun Mun, it's probably giving you problems because you're not in Kerbin space.

EDIT: Mun

Did you recover the science data? Just gaining data from space doesn't satisfy the contract. The data needs to be recovered either through a transmission or possibly through a vessel recovery on Kerbin.

Questions:
1) Did you get some science?
2a) Did you transmit that science back to the planet?
2b) Did you land your ship containing science on the planet and recovered the craft?

Just doing the science isn't enough.

1 I got science.
2 I didn't transmit but landed

Recover vessel completely.
Barking Sands Apr 30, 2015 @ 3:42am
I'm not certain that recovering the vessel to gather the data counts towards the contract. You may need to go back and transmit data using an antenna to complete the contract. That's how I've always done it and I've had no issues.

It absolutely does, so long as the vessel or a part on the vessel is holding science from space.

As Stalinator said, did you recover your vessel?
If that's the case, is the science collected either from
"In space near Kerbin" or "In space high over Kerbin"?

Did you try a stable above 70km kerbin orbit?
PsyBlade Apr 30, 2015 @ 4:55am
Did the experiment explode upon "landing"?
