Kerbal Space Program

Can someone please tell me what SM3 and SM4 are?
At the System Requirements I see that I should have minimum "SM3 512MB VRAM "and recommended "SM4 1GB VRAM". Can someone please tell me that SM3 and SM4 VRAM is? When I google for SM4 VRAM all I get are Kerbal Space Program links.
Thanks

Shader Model 3 and Shader Model 4. Means your card needs to support those to run the game. Pretty much any relatively modern video card from the past couple years will handle that.

SM3 = Shader Model 3 - graphics cards that support all DirectX 9.0c features.
SM4 = Shader Model 4 - graphics cards that support all DirectX 10 features.

1 GB VRAM means 1GiB of video memory on the graphics card.

Oh yeah, easily. Only bottlenecks you'll have will be your CPU and system RAM.

I have seen the game run on an Intel HD 5000 series without issue.
