Yes you most certainly can.....

In KSP folder you will see text document "buildID" that can be compared to Squads builds to get version number....

Version/build info will also be in any dump/output logs created by the game....

Version number also contained in the 'readme' file in main KSP folder.

Or you know you could just launch the game and check in the bottom right once you get to the main menu. Just gunna put that out there

Navigate to the install folder and open KSP.log. You will see the version number on the first line.

In your KSP folder is file buildID.txt (and buildID64.txt). Read the build number from "build id =".

Now cross reference this with https://raw.githubusercontent.com/KSP-CKAN/CKAN-meta/master/builds.json to see which version you have on disk.

I asked well over a year ago, why on kerbal would you think i still need to know the answer ?
Aikahona Jun 24, 2016 @ 2:38pm
Not for you. Think Google search.

The answer was given over a year ago, and it's irrelevant now as it is actually shown on the main menu screen these days?

You missed the part in the original question without launching KSP.

It may be over a year ago, but it still features on a Google search, therefor it remains relevant.

This is true, even 6 years later.
Thanks for the solution

Perhaps true but there is no need for you to necro it again to say thanks.

There is nothing further to discuss. It will remain in a google search even if locked.
