Career mode build station mission question
Ok, so I've been playing for a while and I am geting missions where I need to build a space station (as an example). My question is: if I launch parts of a station that each do not meet the requirement and then dock them together to form something that does meet the overall requirement, will it still count? Or will it see these as seperate vessels and not count towards a common goal?

I'm pretty sure it won't. I tried to build a sun station in orbit and it didn't work. Just launch it as one rocket.

Yes it will count. I've done this numerous times with any number of stations, ground bases, etc.

Can confirm it works just fine.
Squidgy was likely missing something on his station.

The only exception is if you try docking something to an existing station to get the results. Everything has to be fresh off the launch pad after the mission was accepted. Multiple modules work fine so long as they are all newer than the contract.

Yes, what Rushbo said is true as well, of course.

To clarify and resurrect this thread, all of the modules need to be newer than the contract acceptance? As an example, I have the contract to build a new station.

I built a new station that satisfied all the requirements except for the 5 kerbals. However, I had an existing station orbiting Minmus that had a lab and a Mk2 pod. Veiwing the contract from the new station everything was green except for 5 kerbals. Viewing from the old station, everything was green except for building new station. When I connected them, I assumed they would sync and all check out. This did not happen. I had this happen before, but I thought undocking and reversing the dock order (ie, old to new, instead of new to old) fixed it, but maybe it was indeed the newer modules? Anyways, any ideas welcome.

I launched a lab module up to deliver to a station in orbit. It had the required cupola and MPL. And because the shuttle I used to launch it had a 4 kerbal cockpit, I also completed the 5 kerbal objective. The contract was completed even before I took the module out of the cargo bay.

HAH! Figured it out...lol. Had to rename the old station as a ship. Named the new one as a station. Docked ship to new station, great success!

Can confirm. I had the same issue with a station meeting all requirements except "build new". It wasn't until I renamed the station that it completed the mission.
