Only 4 contracts available

In my most recent career mode, i now only have 4 contracts that i ca choose from. I have just finished the 'get into space' & '56k' missions last flight but 1 (last flight was 'test x landed on kurbin' & 'test x splashed down') I have only unlocked 5 things in the tech tree.

Any reasons why there is so few avalable?

As you complete contracts more should spawn.

I have none active at the moment. its anoying because one is always 'orbit kerbin' which im not skilled enough player to do untill i unlock more, and another two are always 'survey' missions, which i dont like.

Update: i completed one contract, and it left me with only 3 available: orbit, and 2 survey.
I tried declining the surveys a couple of times, and just got more survey ones. tried warping time and still only surveys (Still only 3 available)
Im thinking im just going to delete the save and start again. Any ideas why this happened, and how i can avoid it in the futuer? Cause it basicaly just crippled the save.

Basicly there is a limited types of contracts to choose from. You almost have to do survey ones at some point. Best ones are at Kerbin because you can use jets once you onlock them. Otherwise you will have to warp a few days to get send science from x orbit or plant flag on x moon to pop up. Station building ones are best if you can do 3 or more at once using the same craft. Otherwise they are not worth doing.

Edit: You need to do the orbit one to get better contracts. Otherwise you will be stuch with the contracts you are getting. Suggestion. Play in sanbox mode so you can get a better idea on how to get into orbit. If you want I can try and post some pics that show easy to get into space and orbit craft.

I got locked at that stage after only 5 unlocks at the RnD center, and even getting into orbit yet. I had probably only compleated about 8-9 contracts.
I compleated the career mode before, and got alot thurther than this a few times, but never had this hapen to me.

Is it just random how many contraacts are available to you then?

Yeah. I think the most I have seen is about 9 contracts. With one contract governing on when the lists refreshes. I found that exiting and shutting the pc down some times helps with such problems. Also it also might be depended on how high your rep is on wen it refreshes. Not 100% sure about that. But, it would makes sense. Low or bad rep. Only the most desprate or uncaring would come to you.
