I'm not bad at math's, terrible at adulting.
Seem to recall there being another month-ish of time but the details are fuzzy.
Whether it returns or not... thank you for your work on the preservation project and also in posting this so my searching resolved rather quickly.
Nope. We had at least until March more or less - but that extension was about the Forum's software support. Forum would keep working once the license expired, but without support or updates.
But for corporations, it's the same: they don't use anything without someone to blame if it breaks.
It's absolutely unlikely, essentially wishful thinking, to consider that someone deleted the DNS entry for
However, I had faced this before. When Apollo Inc bought Yahoo, a few years ago, the new management shut down everything that didn't paid its costs, and this included YahooGroups.
It was an absolute devastation. But it was announced - they told everybody what was going to happen, and the active admins had time to backup all their data. Unfortunately some of the most important material didn't had an active admin (be by retirement, be by plain dying), and we lost decades of invaluable historical material comparable to the golden days of USENET.
So I had some hope that they had a plan, pretty small one at least, for the Franchise and so the costs of keeping Forum would be justified, or they would put the Forum on read/only for everybody with an announcement of good-bye.
In a way or another, I'm **not** mad with them, these Haveli guys. They gave it a shot, what's frankly a demonstration o good will for these guys. They are on this game for the money, after all - and they extended Forum's life for Christmas so we could say goodbye.
I was saying in Forum, and I will keep saying here: count our blesses. They allowed us to do proper closure.
And I gladly say that I'm eating my words.
Boy, I love being wrong sometimes!
Another DNS change is ongoing, Forum will be out of reach for a few Hours. But **FORUM IS ALIVE**, using a dirty trick on a local DNS, I could post there:
https://github.com/net-lisias-ksp/KSP-Forum-Preservation-Project/issues/14#issuecomment-2608560437
Be patient. Forum will be back in a few hours, when the new DNS entry will finish propagating and replacing old caches.
Thanks so much for doing the heavy lifting here!
Is the wiki still up natively, or has that already been rescued? Hopefully ex-Annapurna will be taking an interest before the domain registration expires.
Thx!
Yes, but there're people archiving it in smarter ways - Wiki is licensed more permissively, I'm just doing it (the same I do for Forum) to have a backup plan if anything else fails for a reason or another.
And the wiki is online, by the way, https://wiki.kerbalspaceprogram.com/
The domain is secured until 2027. Rest assured.
IMHO the handover to the ex-Annapurna Gang
I don't have an explanation for this second outage, but IMHO if they would be going to kill Forum, there're cheaper and less wearing ways to do it.
Lets wait and see what happens - or not.
Forgot about here...
They accidentally delete/made inaccessible some CSS files. The current work around is to select any other theme other than the default.

Everyone will have the option. Finding it is the issue.
