Help using Autostrut

i used autostrut for the first time, this video is what happened after i used it https://youtu.be/_Awin85hJtU and i used it on the bottom tanks, and then also the autostrut option was heaviest part, this also did not happen with no autostrut

update: i did it with the root part, and it basically exploded as soon as the engines started

Are you using Autostrut to Heaviest Part?

It's known to do things like that as the fuel is consumed and the current heaviest part shifts all the time.

i am, but the only tanks being emptied are the outer ones

Try using Grandparent instead, or "to Root" and see what happens,
