Help. Chatterer won't chatter.
Hey all.

Downloaded my first mods today and while Kerbal Alarm Clock is working, Chatterer is not functioning within acceptable parameters. I downloaded, unzipped, and crammed the remains into my KSP game data file. I've got a small yellow CHATTERER just left of my navball ( which I'll see my doctor about Monday ), but no green microphone. CHATTERER brings up a menu. Volumes are up. Chatter and beep frequency set to high, and yet, no chatter. Why? Why no chatter???

Hopefully here's a screenshot:

You have to set the beeps and the settings up as well. Press the other buttons, play around with the options.

All done ( I think ). There isn't a part that each ship needs for Chatterer to function is there? Do you need to be in space for it to work?

It's like there are no sound files for it to play. In this new screenshot you can see that the sample selector is empty, and under Chatter sets, all say 0 clips. There are sound files in the KSP game data folders. Mission control is stumped. All launches have been postponed. I'll monitor this frequency for assistance. Thnx.

OK Thanks to Taki I figured it out.

"Go into your Gamedata folder and open the chatterer folder. If there is another GameData inside then it's installed incorrectly and you need to move that GameData folder to the root directory (Wherever you have KSP Installed)" Taki

So the solution is to peel the Chatterer Game Data file down to the file that says Chatterer and put that in the KSP game data file.

And thanks to all who read or tried to help. I lurked for a long time... Nice to actually interact with you all.

Yep that was what I was going to suggest. Another suggestion is to pick up the Toolbar mod, since it can integrate many of the menus other mods add into one bar that can be hidden along the borders.

Heh, this reminds me of when I used to work in the service department for an audio equipment distributor.

I spent 20 mins on the phone to some guy because his mixer "wasn't working". Went through everything I could think of due to routing possibilities before finally asking, "is it switched on?". I then had to explain where the power LED and power switch were. 5 seconds later I was almost deafend as everything jumped into life.

Sometimes, the simplest things get overlooked.

Yeah we all knew the problem was between the chair and the keyboard. Thanks again.
