What's the altitude for "in space near Kerbin?"
I've got a good few hours in to this game, enjoying it quite a lot, but I found that I don't have any science data for "Material Study while in space near Kerbin." I thought I had done all of the material studies but I set off a rocket and hit every altitude on the scale during launch. I even got into a high orbit and tested it coming back on reentry ever 10,000m.

So, sadly, I can't find the proper spot for this data point. Any help would be appreciated.

The minimum is 70,000m, which is also the point where you're no longer in the atmosphere. Maximum is 250,000m.

I never remember so I have "make crew reports" set to action group 0. I just spam that till it gives me a return for whatever biome I'm looking for. Then scarf science

Alright, thanks. I swear I've tried it at that distance but I'll give it another go.

This being said, I wouldn't cut it too close to 70,000m at your lowest alttitude in flight, I like to saty around 100,000m

i assume safe positions to be at 80km, my lowest stations (the construction parkingspot with spare fuel) is at 90, and that's the only thing i keep lower then 120.

Thanks guys. I was able to pick it up and get it done. I really don't know why I didn't have that altitude done before since it should have been one of the first ones I did.
