Landing on water
Is there any way to recover pods after landing on water, using RSS the craft just bobs around at 0.3m/s therefore I cannot recover.

Any work arounds

uuuh. try stop completely moving, and turn SAS, and RCS (was that what you meant when you said RSS or was it a mod or something completely other obvious thing? XD) off, wait a few seconds.

Real Solar System

The sloshing can cause some issues. Never managed to overcome it without spamming the Recover button.

Hit ESC key, click "Space Center"

Enter Tracking station, Select the landed pod from the list.

Click "Recover"

In such a state of "moving over surface" you may be unable to exit to Space Centre.

you can always exit to the Space Center. Even when it's stupid to do so... But it isn't needed really, just wait a few seconds for the ship to settle down.

Hey I tried hitting the recover button at th top of the screen with rapit clicks, this works every third time.

If you try and go to the space center the words are yellow/orange click on it and it will reset the flight.

The pods never settle down after dinner and a coffee about an hour later still bobing ;-) at 0.3m/s

I will try aim for land each time I come in, thanks for your comments

I've never encountered this. What is it about being splashed down that the game considers the craft to be 'in motion'? Isn't it just floating there? I've never run into any seaborn motion at all once splashdown occurs. No wind, no tides, no waves, no currents, no storms. The capsule doesn't even bob on the water to any significat degree. In fact the calm is so complete its spooky.....I keep expecting a native to Kerbin sea monster to come up and ulp me down. (Hasn't happened.....SO far....)

Is this the result of an added realism mod doing it's job too well and mucking up the vessel recovery system..?

As I put at the top of my last post this happens using Real Solar System

Observed without RSS, and yes, the pod bobbed.

This happens with Better Bouyoncy Mod as well. I perma trigger the recover button and eventually craft and crew are recovered safe and sound.
