Kerbal Character Model Change (to more astronaut lookin')
Looking to create a character mod to swap out the kerbal mesh with a more traditional looking stylised suit. I know.. I know Sacrilege right?

haven't seen any mods on forge that offer this. Maybe I missed them.. in any case.. anyone ever do this using blender or unity?

or is it all nuts with the animation rigging layers and stuff

I'm rather fond of the neon ones.

I know this isn't what you are asking for but I do know there are templates around for recoloring the suits. Not sure how far that would get you toward your goal though.

I assume you know about clicking the little hanger icon next to their names?

Thanks for the reply bud.
Although I'm talkin' about building a completely new character rig in blender and importing it into ksp as a new model. Sort of like how i'm makin' mod parts. haven't stumbled across that folder yet.

With parts it's relatively easy to model, texture and import your own part. Doesn't seem to be like this with the character models however.

I'm diggin' the new suit shaders tho.

Fairly sure they are in the asset bundles. Gonna add, this technically means you are not allowed to mod them or the manner in which you mod them is limited but...well, not going to say do or don't.

The modding rules are essentially, anything in GameData is fair game. Outside of that folder things get more complicated.

Specifically...

9. Legal boundaries

You may not decompile, modify or distribute any of the .dll files or other files KSP comes with beyond content of the GameData folder. Follow the EULA. For assemblies, you may only use exposed public or protected members of classes, and you may not examine the code within any member.
