KSP > GameData > SCANsat
and not...
KSP > GameData > GameData >SCANsat
Hey thanks for responding! I moved the file to your specifications and that fixed 50% of my problem. The SCANsat map button/function used to be all glitchy and showing weird colors, but now it seems operational. However, the parts are still not there :( im assuming the m700 survey scanner does not work with this. Let me know if you want a screenshot of the scansat file or something, im not sure how to tell if the parts are in the file.
Provided all you did initially was have two layers of GameData folder and you moved SCANsat up one level, it should all still be in place and work.
I'll install the mod and see where they appear in the editor parts list but my hunch would be under science.
Edit: Actually, having done that I think I know what your next problem is...You need this installed I think...

Scroll down and grab the .dll file from the downloads section. Place it directly in your GameData folder.
Edit 2: Almost forgot, yes, SCANsat parts are listed under the "science" tab in the editor.
Hey! I appreciate the help, dont worry about the delayed response! I double checked and I have the correct amount of folders: a set of 7 and a set of 5 folders.
So then I grabbed that .dll titled "ModuleManager.2.6.13.dll" (Thats the one right?) and unfortunately that didnt change anything. I put it directly into my GameData folder, so it appeared with the SCANsat and Squad folder, but there was no change except on starting the game it said something like "Module Manager 5" under the loading bar. However still no parts :(
Thanks so much for your patience! But perhaps theres another file to download for this to work?
I also saw under the module manager.dll file there was a .zip file. Maybe I need that?
If you are playing a career game, like mentioned in the first reply, these parts will not appear in your parts selection until you unlock their tech tree node.
Start a new Sandbox save if you are playing career and click on the science tab when in the VAB or SPH. You should see the SCANsat parts in there. Another way to find them is by filtering with by module. One of the question mark symbols should house SCANsat parts.
Edit: No, the zip file is the same thing, just in a zip archive.
Ok so I am in a new sandbox game and I am in the VAB, I clicked filter by module, and one of the question marks is titled "SCANresource scanner" the two parts that appear are called "M4435 Narrowband Scanner" and "M700 Survey Scanner" Are these the correct parts?
Ill look one more time, but let me know if there's any other trick you have up you sleeve!
Thanks!
Also, I tried another mod just in case my game wont work with mods for some reason, but I tried the interstellar mod and that worked fine.
Edit: Actually, do you still have the second GameData folder within your GameData folder? Is there still any remnants from when you first tried to install SCANsat? Delete those if there is.
Either way its working and I appreciate your time!
And the Module Manager lets it work with RPM and Mechjeb and stuff?
All those acronyms...
The thing to be aware of here is you only ever want the latest module manager at the root level of your GameData directory. Some mods will try to replace it depending on how you unzip them and some mods may have it located within their own folder, though I hope this has become a thing of the past and modders have learned not to do this.
Mechjeb is a completely seperate thing (autopilot) and has no integration with SCANsat in either direction as far as I am aware but I have never used it.
Happy scanning by the way.
