either travel to foot to the other Biome/s, or use a rover (if you thought about brining one with you ;) )
You may also think about visiting anomalies on teh surface of the planet (for example the Armstrong memorial on Mun)
that was actually one of my best ksp moments. as I only had a rough idea of where it should be and traveled about 200km through very tough terrain in a particulary big rover by using the coordinates from the wiki. The rover included a return stage and the entire trip granted me a huge amount of science. It was one of the most complex vehicles and mission that I ever did, but I can definitely recommend that :)
Tsk tsk tsk.
Blindly copying every similar game out there is a loosing strategy. KSP has thus far survived by being almost completely unique. Don't kill the game.
Now I did. Still nothing. Someone has watched The Martian too many times (still, time well spent), judging by their obsession with dust storms in what may be too thin an atmosphere. This is KSP with voxel manipulation, KIS, KAS, MKS and EPL (and maybe cloud mods). And if I want voxels, I can peruse Space Engineers.
It looks interesting, but there are a few basebuilding games in space out there (actually KSP itself also has a few mods (like USI Colonization) that allow you to build colonies on other planets).
So, for me it is more dependant on the question, what feature the game will contain.
For example, if the gravity and atmosphere pressure on different planets will have an effect (on your ability to build, move and/or survive) ... if there are different ores and so on ;)
Meanwhile we'll be riding a donut down to the surface of Mars.
