Kerbal Space Program

What am I doing wrong (MK1 cockpit and MK1 crew cabin)
So I can't figure out how to transfer crew between the MK1 Cockpit and the MK1 crew cabin.
I know that the crew cabin only has entry hatches on either end, and it looks like the MK1 Cockpit has an entry hatch on its bottom as well as its side that seems to line up with those on the crew cabin. Yet every time I try and transfer between them I get a message saying I can't.
Tried using both the regular crew transfer, and in ships manifest it says that they are not part of the same living space.

So what gives? it seems like it should work shouldn't it? I'm trying to build a rescue vessel to grind up a little early game cash, and was excited by the possibility of something a little sleeker in design than just having 3 mk 1 pods stacked on top of each other.

You have CLS. The MK1 crew cabin most likely does not have a config yet, so it is being treated as an unpassable part.

SHIP'S MANIFEST has an option in it's config (In game settings somewhere) that blocks these kind of transfers, (It's some kind of REALISM setting)

Set that to OFF and it will allow *ILLEAGAL* crew/sci/fuel transfers.

yeah its looking like a CLS issue, or a combined issue, had to disable realism in manifest, and enable the unlimited crew transfer option in CLS to get it working. makes me a little sad since I like the realism of not being able to transfer crew through struts and the like, but for now I guess i'll just need to pretend that the ships have internal teleporters or something.

Or just force yourself to only transfer between parts that are 'pressurized'. That's what I do.

Honestly i'm so used to doing EVA transfers that I'm likely going to forget I even can do internal transfers half the time. just an annoying little bug to run into so early into an already intentionally difficult playthrough.
