Kerbal Space Program

Joystick Axis not recognised
Hi guys,

just thought, how awesome it would be, to plug in my old joystick to play KSP. Took the thing out, plugged in and tried to configure it. Here comes the problem: KSP doesnt get any movement of the joystick. The buttons work just fine and can be configured, just axis-movement not.

I tried to configure it on the right side of the Input-Settings-Tab, just like I saw it on YouTube. The Stick works perfectly with another game. Im using my MacBook Pro (Late 2011, OSX Yosemite) at the moment, the joystick is a Speedlink SL-66-30.

Anybody knows the problem or has an advice for me?

Thx, Max

Do a search of the forums, there's a fix for this...

Can not find the fix, please, share how to fix this. Having the same problem. My mappings are not saved on MAC, although when I am in the Settings menue of the game, it 'feels' the axis when I move it. So, the issue is just saving the desired mapping.

Looks like MaC users are out of luck... Perhaps developers can help. How can we bring this to the attention of the developer team? I have tried all I know. In MaC, Kerbal Space comes as an .app (one file) Perhaps there is a way to edit it's content. Any MaC experts around ready to help?

What do you want to edit? The sourcecode? Im not sure, how modding works...but I bet youll need a good portion of programming skills...

I had some time to investigate today. In MaC OS one can actually right click on the Application.app icon and open the package. I found a script there called run.sh, which points to steam and starts an application /220200 in my case. This inspired me to look further. And here it is:

The config file for Kerbal Space is located at:
/Users/{YOURUSER NAME HERE}/Library/Application Support/Steam/SteamApps/common/Kerbal Space Program/settings.cfg
You can edit this file and change Axis assignment and save it, but first make a backup, or you run into risking making your game inoperable.

My settings.cfg is a bit of a mess in Joystick section. I will be experimenting with it over the next few days and let you know if I am successful. Good luck!
