Stage sequence keeps changing
everytime i build a rocket i set it that when i stage it the engine fires first and then the decoupler.
but whenever i go to launch it leeps reversing back to fire the decoupler first and then the engine which is an annoying double click.
any ideas why ksp keep doing this?

are you using mods? are you latest patch? this never happens to me.
to clarify, you're setting the staging in the VAB then hitting launch, right?

Yea lates version and full vanilla and latest version.
And yes i set my staging in the vab hit save then lauch and then the order of couplers and engines in one stage is reversed from 1. egine fires 2. coupler fires to the exact opposite which as said make me hit space bar twice for each single stage which is a minor nuisance but still annoying

Sounds like a feature, not a bug.
I cannot remember it being mentioned but it would be logical to have an automatic error correction for false setups of staging.

What you do is a 'misuse' of staging as you do not use decouplers but just the engines' destructive force.
And it's totally unnecessary as you can just put engines & decouplers in the same stage - just drag & drop them in the staging.

I have them in the same stage.
here an example:
Stage:1
Engine
Decoupler
Which is what Ksp reverses back to and needs a second click for the engine start

and here is how i set it up:
Stage:1
Decoupler
Engine
1 Click activates the engine and the Decoupler at the same time.

From the sound of it, you are intending to fire the engines first and then engage the decoupler later but have them in the same stage. Separating them into different stages and having engine first and decoupler second should get you the order you desire:

Stage 0: Decoupler
Stage 1: Engine

The lower a stage is determines how early it activates in the stage order.
Eg. a simple rocket with a small solid-fuel engine, decoupler, command pod and parachute

Stage 0: Parachute
Stage 1: Decoupler
Stage 2: Engine

Stage 2 will activate first, followed by Stage 1 and then Stage 0.
It sounds like your staging is this:

Stage 0: Parachute
Stage 1: Decoupler, Engine

All components in a stage will activate at the same time, with no order. If you want the decoupler to fire after the engine you need to place it in a separate stage above the stage the engine is activated in. If you want the decoupler to fire before the engine place it in a stage below the engine.

I checked and it seems that one evening ksp seems to have been glitching because now it like you said all fires at the same time when i put them in one stage.
Game has been glitching a lot that night like infamous sound only from left or right which is fixed thought a game restart.
well i guess that this then.

It's supposed to fire all at once. Every stage triggers everything in said stage at the same time
