Splashed Down

I have this contract where I need to "Test Small Gear Bay splashed down at Kerbin".
I built an airplane and used that part, took off and landed it safely, but it didn't unlock.
What does splashed down mean? I tried Google, but it didn't help...

Land in water. Then click on the gear and run the test.

It's stupid... but Splashdown means that the test needs to be done in the water.
And Landed means that the test must be done while on the ground. (those one are real easy).

EDIT: So I tried to go to water and the "Splashed Down" requirement is now active, but the contract doesn't unlock...
I toggled the land gear on and off and still nothing.
Anyone else did this?

Test decupler while landed.

Put pod on decupler and launch.

Hit spacebar. Laugh at easy money.

Right click the gear and hit the test button. That will finish the contract.

It pops up next to the science area. 3 tab from the far right. And you only get that contact if you are either 1 box away from getting it or already have unlocked it. If you mean. Where on his ship/craft? I would not know. Otherwise please be more specific in asking your question.

How did you ever think we would be able to figure that out?

Anyway, your question was answered earlier.
Right click the landing gear and click the button that says "test part".

I think the problem was he didn't understand "gear" as "part being tested". He might have been picturing a sprocket icon or something.

Use drogue parachutes to slow down as well as your main parachute.
