Remote Play Together
I'm very surprised that this game don't use this feature yet. Do the dev think they are going to lose money from not using it? Any kind of particular reasoning?

Cause no one cares about that feature (other than you).

I'm sorry, do you have a more trolling and even less important comment to share with us?

No one cares, is not an answer... it's just a troll.

Multiplayer is planned for KSP2 because a lot of people are interested in it. KSP1 wasn't really designed with multiplayer in mind, so it has a few timing/gameplay constraints that makes it difficult to shoehorn a multiplayer feature now.

Maybe but you should know that nothing is free in life. If Steam decided to go along with this it is because they know that it might incite more sales than it would lose, plus make it so that those who buy the game in question are actually sure they want it (presumably after having tried it).

For example, in this example I'd love to play this game with my daughter who live with her mother. It would be a nice and very constructive (IMHO) father-daughter exercise... And who knows, maybe she would bug her mother enough (if she like the game) that she would buy it for her too. Net sale here as I'm pretty sure they would never know about this game without my interference.

So anyways, I was wondering if there was more of a technical reason or issue behind it. I don't think it is because the game is not stable enough or anything tech based since Remote Play Together is nothing more than a stream with mouse sharing. Something you can already do with other, more conventional means. In this situation it would just make it tons easier if Steam just allowed us to play because my daughter is only 9 and I would not be next to her to explain to her how to use a computer sharer and stuff...

I definitely get your point, but the feature is pretty new and seems to be strongly intended for games that already have local multiplayer modes, looking at the list of games that support it.

I wouldn't expect it to happen for KSP, just being honest about the situation. They've been nagged about multiplayer for a long time, and that's why it's definitely being added to KSP 2. I would expect that game to include Remote Play together, when the time comes.

Strange, MechBFP normally has insightful comments and provides accurate information. Perhaps they are just having a bad day or you triggered them??

This is something I would love in the game - but I realise I will have to wait to ksp2 if it is ever included. Quite possibly the networking code is just too complex to incorporate in the current version of the game (i.e. time warping - how would that work in multiplayer?, building currently pauses the game, etc)

It’s both insightful and accurate, but people can’t handle the truth sometimes.

Can't you just buy the game for your kid? Everybody wins! :Dosh:

@gunsforbucks - Not a bad idea. I would love to see this game implemented in school physics programs. Orbital mechanics is quite complex and this game provides a simplistic way to understand it. Then again I am a visual learner and not very good at maths.

Bit off topic but yeah.

Considering that I can't even enter the house in question... Not really? I mean, I have control over my own house. Not the house of others. That's the whole point and the whole idea here.

You don't even have to be on the same continent to buy her a game and gift it to her through steam.

You guys don't seem to get it. I have less than zero control of what happen over there. And that won't change anytime soon.

That's the whole point of asking for Remote Play Together. They don't need to install the game. They don't need to ask permission to the person in charge. Hell, they don't even require a computer even half decent enough to run the game. That's the whole point.

For me, using a game with Remote Play Together is 2 clicks away. For them to actually play a game I recommend is like months away at BEST.

This was said and I think this is the most important thing here, KSP does not have local multiplayer, which is the main function of remote play together, so official support for it is unlikely to happen.

Can you effectively screenshare? Sure but it's unlikely to be supported because you'll both be fighting over the same mouse and keyboard inputs, which while possible, isn't the point of remote play together.

There is of course always teamviewer.

Well I would guess the person in charge is in charge for a reason. Perhaps you should accept their judgement in things. The game isn't going anywhere, it will be here when she can make her own choices.
