If you are asking how to change the symmetry type just press "R" that should do it. Hope i helped.

i know R changes it between the two,but everytime its on Mirror the game glitches and goes to radial mode when i put a part on the build and you can keep changeing it back to Mirror all you want it will instently change to radial

keep in mind, you can't place radial symmetry on a mirrored part.. it will do exactly what you describe (automatically switch back to mirror). and the reverse as well..

Build out your mirror'red part singly first to allow placing radials, then remove the main part and add it back on to the craft with mirror

For the record, it is sometimes possible to deactivate symmetry by clicking the button when pressing the keyboard shortcut does not work, for reasons best known to the developers (e.g. if you want to deactivate symmetry when placing control surfaces on a six way radial engine assembly)
