It happens in Vanilla so its not mods being mods, changing SOI in the current version can be like rolling a dice in an D&D game with a particularly vicious GM..anything can happen.
Since it's what has been changed in 1.1.3, blame the devs.
Fair enough, I stand corrected folks. Wonder how the hell I've escaped the wrath?
Has anyone found a fix? I tried a few small things but nothing has worked. My crew is now hopelessly orbiting Kerbol in a broken ship. I don't really want to abandon the ship since it is carrying a lot of good data. I suppose I could mount a rescue mission for the crew and data but that sounds like a lot of work... sigh.
You probably design differently to those of us that have tangled with this particular Kraken, each Kraken has different tastes.
I have a shortlist of design features for KSP that i know will attract various Kraken from over the versions and won`t do them ever again even if they are supposed to have been fixed.
Murinus...you might not like this suggestion but you can go into the save and alter your location by a couple of KM...that has fixed the problem for me a couple of times but it feels slightly wrong.
I might just do that.... I agree it would feel kind of wrong however I don't want to lose this mission and crew to a glitch in the game.
Also, nukes don't flatly stop working in an atmosphere. They just produce a lot less thrust. Which would still be observable in space.
