Report a translation problem
The only answers I got when posting here yesterday was to turn UP the traction, and (I think) also turn DOWN the wheel speed somehow. And then play around with the steering of each wheel (enable some, disable others)...
It all sounded like so much fun, I dropped the rover idea and did something else entirely. LOL Haven't returned to try it again.
I think they broke something with the wheels, building a simple rover should not be this difficult. You shouldn't have to fine-tune each of the wheel pairs, you should just be able to slap em on the side and they work properly. That's how they USED to work back in Scott Manley's tutorial videos from a year ago, but people said they've changed how wheels work entirely since he made his videos. Scott didn't touch a thing, he put 6 wheels on the side of the Probodobodyne Rover Box, and away he went, easy as can be.
I agree Alizona, I've had this game for years and wheels have not been an issue till recently.

The KSPedia is helpful on a number of fronts, though nothing for the new wheel mechanics nor rovers specifically. I think it just takes a bit of trial and error. Default settigns in the above gifs for the wheels, all stock parts in sandbox 64bit.
Wheels need a power source and a command module (pilot or drone).
I solved the early-game wheel problem by simply not using the single (steerable) wheel at all. I put 2 wheels on the back of the plane, and 2 wheels on the front.
I did, however, find a great use for that steerable wheel... I placed it on the very tip of the tail section... because I had a constant problem with the tail touching the ground on takeoff (over-rotation) which would cause explosions and other undesirable events. LOL
So by putting the steerable wheel on the tail, that's the first item that would contact the ground if I over-rotate on takeoff... this would either prevent any problems, or worst case, the wheel itself would "explode" and disappear, but the tail section of my plane would be intact, and I could fly off on my mission.

Is that white "rectangle box" intended for making a rover a "command module" or do we need to add a separate piece? I thought that was the whole idea of using the "box" to make the rover?
it's called the Probodobodyne RoveMate, the box thing... but I guess maybe it doesn't have any "command module", it says it has Stability Assist but no Reaction Wheel.
I did not attach a command module to my rover design attempt, so I'll def have to give that a try.
Right-click the parts from the select menu to show requirements and more info.
Thanks I'll give putting a steerable one in the rear a try. The funny thing is I've tried putting two in the front and two in the rear and it still wobbles and flips over. But, I almost have enough science to unlock the real landing gear lol.
