wheel stress... are you fking kidding me?!
I lightly touched the ground at stall speed of 60m/s so cant go any slower and the descent rate was 1m/s or even a fraction of 1 BOOM.
Politely I suggest squad **** off back to the drawing board and fix that.

It's not so bad =D

the first wheels cant even kiss the ground without smashing... its pathetic.
Tried repeatedly... its easier to just dump it in the water at the end of the runway.

Yep, wheels self destruct upon rolling out of SPH due to "excess stress". Even on quite small planes

Try the Velociteze. It seems capable of handling take-off and landing just fine. And I (accidentally) smashed it down pretty hard.

Your plane is probably too heavy. Lighten it up, guys.

umm it was a cockpit, 3 emptied 400 unit liquid tanks as a body with the basic cone on the end (so 0.4t + cockpit) 2 swept wings 3 fins 2 small engines 2 intakes and 6 of the small liquid fuel tanks.
It weighed less than 5 ton easily. Just rolling along the runway would blow it up because of the bumpy surface.. was easier to roll off onto the grass and take off from there (but even the ramp down from the raised runway would kill it over 4m/s!!

Well that sucks for you.

I have the same issue. You're not alone. That gear won't hold and it wobbles around like nothing else. I even suspect it might be underground (who knows?).

The LY-05 can only support mass of 1.5 tons or less. Think my craft that did well was 1.33 tons when it went on the non-bumpy runway.

literally reinventing the wheel

well since upgrading to the retractable wheel.... yep the fixed ones are impossible to land a piloted ship with it seems.
Interestingly the retractables last so well the runway is exploding under them but they hold firm (glitch? runways gotten surprisingly explosive for a sheet of tarmac/asphalt)

You can check the wheel stress if you left click on the wheels while starting. I think it shows wheel stress as a percentage level. My wheels break randomly while at under 20 stress level. That is way too early, no matter if its relative or absolute stress level. Seems like the math is way off.

*edit* it´s a right mouse click to activate the part overlay not a left click

Plane also likes to do handbrake turn style skids when landing now. It defaults to steering on all the wheels but even when turned off it slides like on sheet ice (oh and bounces)
HerrDan Apr 21, 2016 @ 3:23am
not even do those first ones break like cookies, also they dont brake well. i had a craft (front wheel exploded) gliding over 400m over the floor.. while the wheels on the back were supposed to brake.. but, no. the vab stopped it finally..
Ruben_101 Apr 21, 2016 @ 3:31am
is there a way to change the stress factor of a wheel manually? something in the CFG files? dont ask me how :S

edit:
"stressTolerance = 5600" maybe this juan? but more or less?
