Longitude of ascending node & Argument of periapsis undefined?
So i'm trying to do a mission to put a satalite into orbit around the mun and when I go to the mission details it is telling me my longitude of ascending node and argument of periapsis are both undefined. Any idea how to get them to show? Do I need to upgrade any of my buildings?

does the contract say "equatorial orbit"? if that's the case, "undefined" just means that it has to be an equatorial orbit with the AP and PE at the defined altitudes, but it doesn't matter where exactly on the orbit the AP an PE are.

those contracts don't show a preview/target orbit because there is (technically) an infinite number of valid target orbits.

Ahhh, thank you!

Well after trying a few times I am still unable to achieve this.

Any ideas? My mission requirements are on the right side.

maybe you're flying in the wrong direction? it says inclination 0°, so the orbit must be prograde. if the orbit is retrograde, the inclination is 180°, which would be wrong.

I'll give that a shot.

Thanks alot it worked! Not sure what you mean though when you say prograde is 0° and retrograde is 180°.

0° is going counter-clockwise and 180° is going clockwise in orbit.

Inclination of 0 degrees is a perfect equatorial orbit, going 90 degrees to a reference plane; in KSP's case, this is the planet's rotational axis (north and south pole)

Basically, 0 degrees is going perfectly east. 180 degrees is going perfectly west. 90 degrees is north, and 270 degrees is south.

yeah basically what the others said - by "prograde" orbit i mean that it's in the same direction as the rotation of the planet/moon (ie "eastwards") and a retrograde orbit is the opposite.

Thanks a lot for the explanations! :KSmiley:
