Mirror mode?
It would be cool if squad would add a new thing were you click on a part and it would attomaticaly mirror it to the other side. THis would be very helpful because nothing is worse than building something and forgetting to enable mirror mode.

Symmetry modes already exist, both radial (good for rockets) and mirror (good for airplanes). The radial also has x2, x3, x4, x6, and x8 modes. You can toggle between these with a press of a button. In any case, it's good to take a good look at your craft before launching.

I dont want to place a part and have it mirrored, (antennas, gauges, etc...)

I know whst mirror mode is
It sould make it so it would mirror a part already om your craft.

What if I intend for a part to be asymmetrical to my craft but then it become mirrored by default?

none of you actually read the the title. you're all dumbasses.

The kettle calling the pot black?

You can click on any object, press R - by default - and then you're in "mirror" mode.. sooo asking for a function that already exists is kinda.. well you know.. dumb?

I'm with RoofCatA here. And I did read the title. Asymmetry, and alternate symmetry modes have their role in rocket design. All my bases are a little asymmetrical. Expensive, reusable science parts are carefully positioned on one side. An ISRU counterbalances a housing & cupola unit or a greenhouse.

The interface makes switching modes pretty easy--either through clicking icons on the screen or using the R and X buttons.

Automatic mirror symmetry wouldn't be fun for me, and would be lousy for rockets. (Mirror mode on rockets can result in rockets that are heavy on one side, unlike radial mode.)
