-air intakes on liquid fuel rockets?
this has probably been asked before aswell as waayy too many times... but, is there anyone way to stick an air intake onto pure liquid fuel tank to power a liquid fuel rocket, (not a jet) instead of having a fuel tank that that is a mix of oxidiser and liquid fuel, like is there a specific reason i cant do this or do the tanks not run on oxygen, and are using another oxidiser instead.

the idea is so i can have a lighter low atmospher stage if that helps...

air, whilst i do understand the need for a large amount of oxygen, i cant understand why it won't work, given a big enough air intake that is...

That's just not how rocket engines work. A 80% Nitrogen 20% oxygen gas flow is not the same as 100% liquid (and thus over 2000% more compressed) oxygen.

Not unless it's a RAPIER.

Besides, the oxidizer isn't cryogenic, so unless we look at performance it could by IRFNA or N2O4, or, and that would be really Kerbal, ClF3 or ClF5.

Yeah an air intake no matter how large wouldnt provide enough O2 as compared to compressed and super-cooled(liquid) oxygen provides. It is a good idea on your part, but in the real world and also in Kerbin this is impossible unless the atmosphere became more concentrated and 100% oxygen :) But then we would have other problems to deal with as plants and other organisms need Nitrogen and CO2 to live.

Although the explosions would be awesome.

But not the giant spiders part.

You launch the drone and it crashes through their hull, leaving a huge breach. You watch as the drone tears through the creatures while debris and dead bodies fly out of the breach. The owners of the station are less than effusive when they thank you, and offer only a meager payment. Maybe it's a good time to leave...

You're possibly looking for this beast: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SABRE_(rocket_engine)
(Although it brings its own _very_ special air intakes)
