Help getting an old mod to work

I really enjoy a mod called Final Frontiers. But the download I have when put where it should go is just not working in game. On game start up, it shows Final Frontier being loaded along with the other files.
Has anyone else had this problem with this mod? Or does anyone know if there is a working version out there somewhere?

i mean, if it shows it being loaded when you start the game, where exactly is the problem?

to be clear; you have downloaded the mod correctly to your knowledge, correct? the right folder is in gamedata, game says it loads it? and you've tried launching a kerbal into space to see if they get any ribbons?

Correct on launching and no ribbons being rewarded. The FF tab that used to show up on the toolbar is not there anymore.
Are you using this mod and it is loading correctly? If so were are you obtaining it from?

backup any saves and ships you wish to keep (unless you are fine with losing them) and do a complete reinstall; delete the entire game folder, verify game cache, launch to make sure it's a fresh install

then install the mod through ckan
