Can't pass tutorial mission 3
I hate to sound like a normie here, but for what ever reason, when I get to the step in the 3rd tutorial mission where I need to add the "swivel engine", I simply can not, as there are no engines at all. I have screen shots of every step in this Tutorial Mission 3, but don't know how to add them here.
I've uninstalled, and reinstalled a number of times, this is also on a recently reinstalled Windows 10 x64 system. I've also used the "Verify files" option within the properties in steam, and I keep getting a result of 27 - 30 files not passing. I tried this as I know how the mods work for this game, so when a part (this engine) was missing, I naturally assumed the file for this part was missing, but like I said, even after a reinstall this engine is missing.
I could really use some help on this please?

Additional: There seems to be user created/generated data by simply running the game, is there a way I can reset this? Perhaps my past game play has caused this issue, and the game is inheriting this from the cloud?

There are no issues with your game. The tutorials are broken because of an update (1.12?).

GunsForBucks has made a guide, how to get through the tutorial with the Swivel Engine. I hope it helps you.

The further tutorials should work fine, as far as I know.

Thanks to you both. Very much appreciated.

The files found in a verify are meaningless.
The verify is good for checking if it helps an issue but number of files bad does not indicate anything. It is just a result of how they did the construction update. So no worries just seeing some "bad" files.

Also since you mention reinstall I will put this here for you.

Also keep in mind older saves may not allow you to open older craft in a new save due to how many parts were converted to construction parts. So starting a new save is best. If you want to play an old save you can use the beta tab in properties to load a previous version of the game.

That said though your old saves just being synced should not effect a new game or change number of bad files.

The reason I ran the verify files was because I thought that perhaps I'd somehow deleted the required part files. This change due to an update - especially for something important, such as the tutorial was the furthest thing from my mind.
As for the old saves. I don't have anything to loose really. I'd been playing mostly on KSP for Xbox One, but recently got a 4k monitor. Before all I had was a monitor who's highest resolution was 900x1600. I've also discovered that it really doesn't change much (LoL :-)
Full disclosure: The whole reason we were even running the tutorial in the 1st place was because I like my Son to learn using me only as a last resort. I've been playing KSP on and off for about 5 years now. I have a considerable amount of time on Xbox One. I can do most things on here, but now enjoying watching my Son do all these things for the 1st time.
