Unable to load stock crafts

I loaded KSP on a newer machine and there seems to be some sort of conflict. I can see my other save games from previous machines.
For some reason when I start a new game I can not load stock aircraft. The albatross, for example, should be built by all default parts. I've no idea why it won't load.

What happens exactly?

What version of the game are you running?

Are you running any mods?

I don't use the stock stuff personally. But the latest build of the game that brought construction changed a lot of the parts ... not sure if that is the issue but at a guess.

You can try to use the beta tab and load an earlier version of the game and see if they work there. I would suggest 1.10 as that was pretty stable.

latest version - 1.13.3 I think. I do use mods but when I load a stock craft the load button toggles but nothing else happens. I just tried it on my other machine and even my custom craft (stock parts) comes up just fine.

new machine windows 11 by any chance?

Old machine running 1.12.3 as well? Should be in lower right of start menu.

yeah both are running windows 10 and the latest KSP version. Oddly enough I loaded one of my custom crafts (stock parts) on the old machine and now I can load it on the new machine... Seems odd.

Seems to work normally on mine as well.

Tried a file verify?
With game closed right click game name for Properties
Local files
Verify

It will find bad ones but just see if it solves your problem. Construction will make parts fail but they are ok... don't worry about number of failed files.

Other than that I would try a clean install.
Uninstall game
Manually go to the folder and delete the whole Kerbal Space Program folder
Reinstall "clean" version of game. Test before adding in any mods or saves.

yeah i'll verify and try a clean install. I did try a "clean" install but didn't manually delete anything.

It is the manual deletion that makes it "clean" otherwise you can just be installing over bad files.

I assume you just moved the folder or had steam move things rather than an install to begin with?

It should have been "clean" if it had never been there.

That should work, ... hopefully.

If not then maybe copy paste the whole folder from the other computer??? Shouldn't need to though... that seems more like the problem than the solution ha ha.

That's because of Steam cloud.

yeah I think deleting the KSP folder and reinstalling will fix it up just fine. I'm hoping the cloud revives some of my builds though. We'll see. Thanks for the help!

Are you running sandbox or career?
If career, did you enable stock craft loading?

If stock craft are not enabled then you wouldn't even see the folder in the open window.

I thought that might be the case but wasn't 100% sure as I only ever goof about in sandbox.

Doing a manual folder delete and reinstall seems to have solved most of the issues. It seems I'll have to manually reinstall the mods as well. Thanks for the help - will keep you updated.
