What mod manager works best with the latest version of the game?

Ah. Sorry I don't use a mod manager at all, but I'm pretty sure that CKAN is the only one worth anything for KSP.

Have you tried just installing the USI mods manually? Mod installation for KSP is really easy even without a mod manager.

A lot of modders don't put their mods up on CKAN or any other mod manager. They have to be installed manually.

That's probably because of version compatibility, not because CKAN is unfamiliar with USI or the other thousands of mods it manages. In CKAN, main screen, on the top, you can get a pull down selection menu concerning versions and filtering, to show you the mods you were missing. It also does help to update the CKAN repository once in a while (so accurate version and update info is gathered by CKAN). With the latest KSP and CKAN; I can see and install USI modules. Hope this helps!
