I tried installing planetshine
I see no difference.

OK, I downloaded the mod, then copied and pasted it in gamedata.

It's pretty subtle. Do you have the icon?

I think by default it's on low or medium, should be more noticable if your crank it up to high.

Keep in mind it only adds very soft colored lighting to the side of the ship facing the planet while in space. You can toggle it on/off in the settings; you'll notice the difference side by side in real time.

OK, I filtered the mods to 1.3.1 only, downloaded it again, removed the other, and placed it in gamedata.

I got a message while loading that said allow updates, which I did.

Then I got a message saying unsupported version, use 1.2

btw, didn't you say that this mod does all kinds of other things? Like clouds and such?

That's EVE. (I know, all these naming conventions are confusing lol.)

As far as Planetshine; you can ignore the compatibility warning, it works in 1.3.1, you might have to be "in-flight" to see the button though.

I got the button, and set it to high. I can't tell the difference yet, though

Debug menu yourself into orbit, and toggle it on/off.

Like I said it's a rather subtle effect, just a soft blue (At Kerbin anyways) lighting on the underside of the ship.

Debug menu yourself into orbit? What does that mean?

Anyway, what I'm looking for is more realistic looking planets. I see a link from that EVE page to 'stock visual terrain'. Will that do it?

Stock visual terrain is for higher res planet textures I think.

If you want a more realistic look for planets in general, EVE and all the recommended mods on it's page is a nice package.

Press Alt+F12 to open the debug menu, open the orbit tab, select Kerbin from the list, and hit "set orbit." Boom, you are in space!

OK, I am trying to instal svt. I got a panel that says 'the destination already has a file named "README.md" and gives me the choices to replace the file in the destination, skip this file, and compare info for both files.

What do I do?

btw, as instructed, I first installed Kopernicus

Just replace it, readme's aren't important.

Thanks, Chib. I don't know what I'd do without you.
ray.mcdonough Nov 20, 2017 @ 12:12pm
Oh, crap. I got a message saying something went wrong, to make a bug report, etc, etc.
Chibbity Nov 20, 2017 @ 12:15pm
Hmm..as I understand/remember it; Kopernicus and SVT should be side by side in the gamedata folder, not one in the other. Which did you do?

Also they both extract with their own example "Gamedata" folder, you don't want that, you know what I mean?

They were in the same folder, I'm pretty sure.

I deleted everything I could find, and I stopped getting the message. game loaded fine.
