How to get science points continously?
Hi,

it's been quite a while since I've played KSP regularly. I'm on a new game, got some science points from several Goo's, temperature, pressure measurements etc.
However, I wonder if there's a way to get science points continously? Currently I'm on a point where it's quite hard to get new science points :/
So, for example, is it possible to get a satelite into orbit which collects science points continously? If yes, what must be equipped?

Regards

Mobile science lab generates sciences over time, though you need to send it back manually.

The new Breaking Ground DLC adds new surface outposts to gather science points while you wait.

The mobile processing lab will generate science for you pretty much anywhere as long as you keep feeding it experiments.
Each lab can only take each experiment once so you might have to swap labs if you ever manage to get all of the science on any planet or moon.

Certain contracts give science points and can be repeated as long as they're available.

The administration building can convert funding or reputation rewards to science points.

Do a multi-biome exploration of Minmus and you should be able to buy out most of the tech tree unless you changes science gains in the game settings.
You can buy out the entire tech tree without ever leaving Kerbin's SOI.

I've currently not enough... right, science points to get the mobile lab :) But good to know about it, thank you.

So, those outputs can also be build on Kerbin? I don't want to pay 15€ if this only works on other planets :)
By swapping labs you mean the mobile lab can only do a experiment once? But I can repeat it if I use a new one?
I tried the functions of the administration building, but I can't see any progress. Currently it's set to take funds, but if there's any effect, it's so small that it can be neglected.

Can you store more than 1 crew reports in the pod ? or is it like mystery goo where you can transmit or keep only 1 for recovery ?

This means you dont have all biome data. Kerbins SOI on standard setting is actually even MORE than enough even without MPL's.
You know, go get a surface sample of Minmus flats. But get another from the lowlands as well!
Even the KSC itself already has mutliple "biomes", the launchpad, the VAB, heck, even the crawlerway and the flagpole are their own biomes. Nice way to test your rovers and get science while doing so ;)

Each science container can hold one report or experiment, one type of data. The pod acts as a science container, if you want multiples you will need multiple containers.

However: A report from Minmus Flats is a different dataset from one from the lowlands, so you can have multiple. Now the tricky part with the pod is that when the report is generated it kind of "sits on the experiment slot", much like a temperature scan until you go collect it and put it into a container.

TLDR: Use science container(s), potentially even bind a key to "collect all". And have a scientist with you to reset the mystery goo and material bay so you can collect multiple in one mission. Scientists can do so, requires an EVA though. But- you can also do an EVA report and collect a surface sample while doing so anyways ;)
