Does anyone actually use CurseForge (app) to install mods?

I download most of my KSP mods from curse... Some I get from KSP forums/Github/Spacedock etc, but they probably only make up about 5% of the mods I use.

I don't use the curse app or ckan, I just install them manually. I use 7zip to extract them, and I make sure I don't put a gamedata folder in the gamedata folder.

Before reading this thread, I didn't even know there was a curse app...

yes, theres a curseforge app that acts like CKAN but has an unfamiliar interface so people don't use it

I just install them manually by dragging their gamedata folders into KSP's gamedata folder. This is, usually, much quicker than CKAN or curseforge installs by my experience and has a lesser chance of breaking the mod during installation.

what about steam breaking files, etc. i heard it on a youtubes so it must be true?

Steam breaking mod files? Like game updates and breaks your mods?
Many people who mod just move the install folder away from steam and launch directly so steam updates to games won't break anything.

That said though I am not sure the game will get much in the way of updates due to them working on KSP2.
