I am going to beat Guns for Bucks to the punch here and suggest you verify files. The number of duplicated icons on the left side tells me that something as definitely gone amiss.

If your files verify with no failures, or if after fixing any problems you still experience this, send a link to your log and we can go from there. :)

Control locked?

<ALT> "L" Or <ALT> F12 and look for control locks (Also <ESC> and the bottom option *version check* to get to the <ALT> F12 menu.)

Note: Modded and having LGG's Click through blocker adds a control lock toggle.

Try a new game save and see if the problem still exists there.

Did you verify your files as suggested above? Library - game - properties - local files - verify

Do you mod your game?
MechBFP Dec 30, 2020 @ 7:29am
You need to do the following. Backup any saves you care about. Uninstall the game. MANUALLY delete the ENTIRE "Kerbal Space Program" folder and everything in it. Re-install the game. Put your saves back if you need to.

bluto2478, if you've verified the files successfully, and you are still having the same problem, please provide a link to the entire log, not just snippets.

bluto2478, I need your entire log if you want me to try to diagnose this. Since you have a modded install, it is likely that this is a mod issue. Posting snippets doesn't help me. It's like asking a doctor to diagnose a friend's medical condition from a verbal description of a single incident. The doctor can take a guess, but is just playing the odds. Just looking at the tiny bit of log you supplied makes it look like Scatterer is the culprit, but the behavior you are reporting is completely out of line with what Scatterer touches.

If you want me to take a shot at this, upload a log to OneDrive, Dropbox, or Google Drive and post a link.

They already stated in their reply to MechBFP that they are running a clean install with no mods.

So they either didn't do as suggested or just re modded the new install before testing it.

I do admire your ability to press on though! Hope OP appreciates it.

Have a great new year!

Hey GunsForBucks, thank you! You're probably the most patient person on here, so that's high praise. :)

That log snippet shows a modded install, so I figure either the OP remodded the new install, didn't totally clean out the previous install, or has made a mistake in saying it was unmodded. We will see. It's worth a shot, anyways. :)

Happy New Year!
