KSP Startup Crash - mono.dll caused an Access Violation
Hi guys,

Game keeps crashing on startup. I've checked integrity of files, and completely uninstalled my GeForce drivers, installed new drivers, older drivers... I've even deleted KSP and did a fresh reinstall... Still crashing. What gives? Also... I have no mods.

Why you reinstalled your grafic drivers? Why you think Mono.dll is about your grafic adapter? Some people has first to read, before they start actions. Update your .NET Framwork Distributions. Mono.dll is a .NET Framework Handler Library for Linux. An access violation means that the API cant fetch informations from a specified register adress like the programm tries to handle a constant like a variable or tries to have access to a private function.

And you actually deleted your old mods from the GameData folder and didn't just think Steam would automatically do that for you?

And most people in this case still have mods because they think Steam deleted them with the rest of the game files while it didn't.

It never does. Also not when the game is unmodded.

I have read one person fixing this same type of error and that fixed it for him, I appreciate your help but relax a bit mate, no need to get personal. I'll try updating. Thanks.

To clarify... I've never had any mods whatsoever in any of my steam games. Thanks.

Okay I don't understand why... but I manually deleted the KSP folder in steam, deleted all the registries associated with KSP, and reinstalled the game. Working 100% now for some reason... Thanks for the help... hopefully this will help someone, cause it had F***all to do with .NET drivers or anything else suggested here.
