Once you start, you can't stop. it's addictive. Putting thing in orbit, then peoples then go to the 2 moons then the other planets and their moons. And as you develop new technology you do more. Try the demo if you can find it. Then decide if you like it. May be someone can tell you where to get the link for the demo.

Build rockets/planes/rovers, fly rockets/planes/rovers etc...

Depends how much you like it I guess? I have 1000+ hours off Steam and like 500ish on Steam. I'm certainly not bored of it.

What you do? Whatever you want. As long as its somehow about space. Drive a robo rover over a planet akin to mars? Yea sure. Visit Ceres counterpart and do some drilling? No problem. Build a space hotel? my current favorite.
Catch an asteroid!
Learn about astro physics while trying to achieve your first orbit, or what does it actually take to bring a plane to space?

Nearing 3k hours on steam, and about the same off already. My opinion might be biased.

Doesn't get boring unless you have another game that's fun, but it keeps you coming back anyway. You build rovers, space stations, sstos, vtols, planes, bases, and so much more. I personally prefer career mode, where you play with funds, science and reputation. I also love to mod this game, the mods are incredible. You'll love it, trust me. See for yourself.

Mods make the stock game so much better.

Space travel. Astrophysics. Engineering. The challenge of setting a goal (get somewhere, do something, save someone, build something, etc.) and figuring out how to accomplish it with the components available to you. You really feel the challenge of space travel and when you succeed at doing something for the 1st time it really feels like you accomplished something. Hard to explain - this is a game that does not hand you solutions but provides you the tools to figure them out yourself and makes you want to find them. All with a generous coating of quirky humour (your scientists and astronauts are a race of little green nerdy Bart Simpson-like beings). You'll probably go through a 'trial-and-error' phase, then start warming up to the idea of using your brain and doing your homework to succeed. Or just reading up and taking a cue from what others have tried - no shame in that after all, it's a game. If you're just looking for a comp-stomp or 'easy win' though, wrong game.

That's the best explanation you could possibly find.

I enjoy colonizing the whole solar system, collecting all the experiments from all the biomes, training my crews, and handling tourists. :happy_creep:

That said, in my primary save things have hit a slow, boring spot. :yawning_creep: Most of my time is spent transmitting science back from my ~24 labs/bases and putting their next transmission on the schedule to transmit again 30-60 days later (thank you Kerbal Alarm Clock). All the biomes in reach are explored. All my contracts are waiting on interplanetary missions that'll take months to reach their destinations. All my kerbals around Jool's moons have planted a flag on all 5 of them. All of my housekeeping is in order (refueling orbiting ships, training kerbals, building a relay network, etc). What do you expect 3,000+ hours in? (Not that I've ever hit 4-digit hours on anything else ever.)

But that's where having seperate saves with mods come into play. I've played around with USI MKS/OKS mod in one. I have another with TAC life support. There is always something new you can try thanks to our wonderful modding community.

Bring your problems to us!
There is no problem. There are only challanges, and solutions. :KSmiley:

Mostly blow stuff up. Sometimes intentionally... Other times, not so much....

It sometimes gets frustrating, but never boring. Feel free to have a nosey at my profile to see how many hours I've played (then add about 500 on top for old modded version I've still got as backups that don't count towards steam hours) or my screenies http://steamcommunity.com/id/super_hot_chilli_fiend/screenshots/

I've always been quite proud of my space stations:

But Jacks above has made me a bit jealous lol :ksad:

TL/DR: The "overwhelmingly positive" reviews are there for a reason :)
