1.25m heatshield contract doesn't register speed

So, I took the contract to test the 1.25m heatshield on conditions: 51000m to 62000m and 2040 to 2160 m/s.

I meet those conditions, but the green check box for the speed never registers. In other words, I see my speed in that range, but it's like the mission doesn't register that.

Right clicking on the shield and clicking 'run test' when I'm on conditions doesn't complete the mission.

What am I missing?

Was your speed relative to the surface or your orbital velocity?
There's a big enough difference to throw off part test contracts.

That's a pretty narrow velocity window, so my guess would be that the contract requires that velocity relative to the surface and you have your velocity measuring in orbit (or vice versa). The difference between the two is about 200 m/s, so you could be going just a bit too slowly in the wrong reference frame and not get the check.

this, you can change it to surface by clicking on the velocity thing on the nav ball

Wow, it would be groovy if the mission said which it wanted. Too much to ask I guess.

Usually, part tests asking for velocity want it done relative to the surface.
Part test contracts suck so lots of players don't do them.
