However they may not work right once loaded, tweaking is often required.
Subassemblies I'm not sure about, but I'd wager it's about the same, just with the subassemblies folder instead.
Sounds simple enough, so I'll give it a try. Thanks man!
No problem. I do it all the time and it usually works fine. Once in awhile some change between the version you made the ship on vs. the one you are playing on will make one of your ships from the old save/version want to explode or not work right, but that's usually fixable in my experience.
Thank you so much, it works! I must make mention though, the game seems to freeze for a good five to ten seconds before loading up any of the subassembly or craft operation overlays. I'm hoping this side-affect either ceases over time or I get used to it. Did you ahppen to experience this when moving your craft over? I did just make a new save-game entirely and I moved, without exageration, close to 1,000 crafts and subassemblies over (five years worth of work in KSP). However, even on the largest of my save-games, I've never experienced this before and my computer is handling extremely smoothly in all other aspects.
I think the issue may be the thumbnails, you'll notice they are all default green icons on the crafts you've moved, I've never moved that many craft files though.
Try copying over the relevant thumb images from the "thumbs folder."
I've never bothered doing that since the game generates a thumbnail once you've loaded it once, but with such a large quanity, Idk.
