Help with B9 Part Switch and Simple Construction
I need some help. I do not know where to go for mod support, so I came here.

Bug recreation steps:
I uninstalled all other mods to make sure the bug wasn't caused by other mods.
I installed simple construction (which has B9 Part Switch as a required addon) using CKAN.
I started KSP.
During the loading screen, B9 PS pops up with a box saying:

B9PartSwitch has encountered a fatal error and KSP needs to close.
Fatal exception while loading fields on module ModuleB9PartSwitch on part
Exception while loading field subtypes on type B9PartSwitch.ModuleB9PartSwitch
Exception while loading fields on subtype PartSubtype RocketParts
Exception while loading field tankType on type B9PartSwitch.PartSubtype
No tank type named 'SCRocketParts' exists

Then it gives me a button to quit the game.

I think this is something the mod developers need to look at since CKAN installs all other mods without error.

Try them again. They wouldn't have solved the original problem as that was due to missing the CRP. I was just going to find this exact mod and see if it defines this resource.

Edit: Also, yes, those patches add a tank type KGExOre.

Edited again: Ok, I suspect you may have something left over from before your clear out. I just went through the process of installing as you outlined. I got the same error in the OP when I placed B9 Part Switch in the game but adding CRP resolved all issues and loaded fine.

Yet another edit: Holy crap! Maybe don't install KGEx alongside CRP, SC, EL and B9PS. So many errors.

Last edit I hope: Turns out those Stock B9 patches fail even when the only things installed are B9 and the patches. Somewhere, there's some missing tank definitions.

I removed all mods and started over. I manually installed Module Manager, Community Resources, E.L., and Simple Construction. I ran KSP without error.
I quit to install the other mods.
After letting CKAN install my favorite mods, I ran KSP again.

Strange... it is working now. No fatal errors. I hope this lasts. I will post as soon as there are any errors.

No worries, the only thing I see that may be a concern, you have installed Extraplanetary Launchpads alongside Simple Construction. Simple Construction is in essence a modified version of EL and with both plugins present, you may encounter issues. You can read more here...

When I download SC, EL comes with it.
