Map asteroids contract - nothing happens
Hi,
I accepted this contract to map six asteroids endangering Kerbin. I put the telescope in the assigned orbit and switched on tracking. It's been over a year and nothing has happened. I got no updates from the telescope. Funny thing even though its fairly close to Kerbin's orbit in Sun orbit when I right click on it it says that it is mapping asteroids in Duna orbit. I tried putting it in lower Sun orbit and it then said it was tracking Kerbin, but then it passed close to Kerbin and the unknown objects (marked '?') floating around Kerbin and still I got no updates. I kept it in that orbit in time compression for three more years just to see if anything happens and I got no updates. Am I doing something wrong here?

According to my knowledge, the telescope must be in a solar orbit between Kerbin and Eve in order to watch for Kerbin, but it seems that these missions ask people to put telescopes between Kerbin and Duna...As a result, these missions are impossible to complete (correct observation target = not in required orbit, and vice versa).

These are only my guess, I haven't done these missions in 1.9.1 yet.

No, I definitely accepted this contract before 1.9 came out. And now look what I found:

yea... asteroids are pretty broken rn, all asteroids now weigh about 180t, even tiny and giant ones, and when you get science from them, it says "Kerbinspotatoroid[random number]"...
very odd....

I guess it's OK. It's already logged as a bug so maybe they will get to fixing it eventually. For now I used the cheat menu to complete the contract and I am putting the telescope into a lower Sun orbit. Hopefully it will be able to just map some asteroids around Kerbin so that I can have some fun with them later. ;)
