I am familiar with KOS on a basic level. Does it still work if the vessel is out of range though?
I will check out this mod.

I play mostly in sandbox so it's not about getting money. It's just an rpg thing I guess.
Besides my ultimate goal is to build a base on Eve with a craft that can reach orbit, land, dock with the first stage, refuel and be ready to launch again.
There's probably a mod I'm just not sure. And I know what you mean that you want to do it physically to prove it's possible not just use a mod to automatically recover it.
Obviously you cannot directly control two things using keyboard inputs but there must be a way to write some kind of landing script and expand the simulation area etc.
I'm doing something similar now however I'm content with landing the launch stage just once to verify it would always work. It's sandbox too so I'm just trying out concepts not money related. And honestly once I know it works, I'd rather not do it again heh.
I've downloaded and tested the FMRS mod. It works perfectly for me (v.1.4.5) and has been updated for 1.6.
SpaceX style missions is the thing right now but this would also be perfect for a stratolauncher.
Or you could have a plane that drops a rover with parachutes.
Ah... the possibilities.
Yes I want to be able to control the other parts of the rocket after staging.
Recovering earlier stages would be cool.
