Give me a link to download English language...

I have the same problem. Basically, when you run the game through steam, all the CFG fles get deleted. That includes localization.

"Verify integrity of game cache". That will get your 400 or so files back. Then, go to the localization folder under GameData/Squad (and SquadExtensions if you have Making History) make a copy of the localization.cfg file IN THE SAME FOLDER and it works...

Then you realize that you are missing almost all the parts and all the ships...

So, the only workaround I found is to skip Steam and run the KSP_64 or launcher executable directly... If you NEED steam, tough luck.

The game is not getting almost any support anymore, so I don't really expect this to be fixed

Huh? We're getting patches every three months now. Wtf are you talking about?

The issue is on your end, most people have no problem playing right now.

Have you tried actually contacting Squad support instead of complaining on the Steam forums?

The game gets patches but "support", even on the official forums, is primarily community based.

The issue raised here has come up quite a few times and has been occurring roughly since the integration of Steam workshop.

Somethings got screwy with it and I imagine a lot of the people who have not encountered this issue do not run KSP through Steam since that has pretty much become standard practice for "serious" players.

That's not entirely fair, the moderators help with gameplay and technical questions quite a bit over there.

I'm not downplaying the bug, jsut suggesting that posting here will get you exactly zero official support. The official forums or contacting support directly would be far better options.

Since I don't use any gameplay or part adding mods, I've no issue launching from Steam, but I understand why most wouldn't.

Moderators are community members....with a badge.

Fair enough, but they are enlisted by Squad for that very purpose. How is that not providing support?
Manwith Noname Nov 10, 2018 @ 3:45pm
Did I say there is no support? I said support is primarily community based. I'm sure you can find a dev or actual Squad employee respond to something in the tech support section but it is still primarily community members (badge or not) that help others with game problems.

I think they do alright for a small team.

It's a known issue, it's on the bug tracker, it's being worked on. I mean, what more can you ask for?

Not being so dismissive of people with issues and being more helpful in the first place?

Edit: Just checked that forum link and it's a different issue.

Like I said I didn't think it was fair of him to accuse the game of having "almost no support."

It seemed similar enough, a bunch of AutoLoc where there should be other text. I'm pretty sure it's safe to say it's a known issue if it's as wide spread as you say, which I believe.

The person I quoted implicated it would never be fixed, which I think is highly unlikely given the accelerated pace of patches recently.
Manwith Noname Nov 10, 2018 @ 4:23pm
Whether or not it will be fixed remains to be seen. It's been an issue for some for nearly six months in which time we have had two minor patches and a major revision. I don't necessarily completely agree with their comment but I can understand it.

At least they offered the known workaround which should answer other questions.
