Memory Leak?
I recently started playing KSP again. I deleted all old saves and started a new one on Science Mode. It worked fine for quite a while, no issues at all. But after a while, it started to get quite laggy. When i checked on the Task Manager i discovered KSP was using a huge amount of RAM. More than 10GB. So i did a restart of the game.
The game was running fine again, with about 3GB memory usage. After a while i started to Build a Rocket in the VAB. Soon after it started to lag everytime i wanted to place anything in the symmetry mode, espacially struts.
The rocket was nothing fancy, about 150 Parts. Again i saw more than 10GB memory usage by the KSP client. I did some resarch and found out the memory usage was growing by about 200MB each time i tried to place 4 struts filling up the memory very rapidly. Now the stuts wont even connect to anything and still eat up memory.
I know my computer is not the fastest (i5 3570, 16GB RAM, GTX 970) but i can't imagine that my Computer is at fault. There is just something wrong with KSP. Im running the x64 client, no mods(never used any).

There appears to be a bug with the 1.5 update. Other users have reported similar behaviour.

Yup, after about an hour of play my whole PC locked up. Didn't have this issue before the update, could play for 10+ hours without a problem.

Memory leak was in KSP before, but now its bigger

And here i was hoping that they made optimizations for 4k textures, meaning i could run mods and not have ksp take up literally all of my 16gb of ram and slow my computer to a crawl constantly reading from disk.

I've been playing it for 2 hours, it capped at 9.5k ram usage out of my 16gb ram, loading times were rediculous. hopefully they'll fix it soon

I wonder what would happen if squad sold thier soul to a p.o.s. AAA vender of droken dreams fired the staff that actually did work on the game and tried to provide the 'valued fans' with 'free content updates for "BOTH groups" ',

Would look like.....

:steamfacepalm:

Hello, I've also found this bug.

My memory is eaten by KSP, Cannot launch my (big, but i did similiar projects before) space station. Memory usage is growing in vehicle assembly building with every part moved/attached.

Tried to launch it several times and got crash some time after start.,

No mods, never.

Same here. It is impossible to build a big rocket as the editor starts needing minutes for every step after a few parts. Navigation nodes take ages to update when the trajectories enter the gravitational influence of a planet. Switching between buildings takes ages after a while. Something got a lot worse with the update.

wonder if that's why they ditched the 32bit version? It would've crashed with memory access violation in a few minutes instead of a couple hours that it used to take..

Should we somehow report this bug? Or devs knows about it?
