Older KSP Versions
I want to download older versions of KSP. I know about the thing in the betas menu in steam, but I want to go back to .90 or older. How could I do this? Thanks, NeoKnight

Steam doesn't let you go back further than 1.0. I tried asking Squad for old versions, they said 1.0 was the oldest they had. I've been trying to collect old versions for years, but I don't have them all.

I have every version except for 0.14, 0.15, 0.16, and 0.17, and I'm willing to share them with you if you want.

Which one is the oldest version? I know that the first version of KSP was actually 2.5D...

The first released build was 0.7.3, which is freely availiable. Someone found 0.6, and a former squad employee confirmed it's legitness, but the links are dead. There were several unreleased dev versions before that, some of which were 2.5D.

In 0.7.3 ss there a way to recover the ship other than Esc and End Mission?

Thanks so much!! I do not believe recovering vessels was added until switching vessels and savefiles were a thing.

Yes I do, actually. I’ve even managed to expand my collection to include 0.16 & 0.17, although I managed to loose 0.24, 0.25 and above in a hard drive crash.

Message which ones you want to me on reddit and I’ll send them to you. (I’m /u/TriggeredSnake.)

Omg I am so sorry it's taken this long but I got the files together and tried to send them to you but you deleted your account. I've got them ready so if you message me or something I'll send you a link. Some real life stuff (I can chat you more details if you want) happened and I completely forgot!

I know this is an old thread but I might as well ask, do you still have those versions? I managed to find 0.22 (albiet illiegally and without realizing it was the first version on steam... considering the fact that squad hasn't considered putting up pre 0.22 versions up for download, are you still considering dming the versions? I really do not want to spend hours scowering the internet to find one of several old versions.

If you do happen to respond, thanks from past me!

I can't remember the exact version number it starts from but you can get every build that was ever uploaded to Steam via methods in the guides from the link I posted previously. I think it goes from 0.18 up.

I haven't checked but I think the guides are updated. You used to be able to do this within the Steam client via the console but that method became inconsistant at some point. So now you need a program called Depot Downloader.

Edit: Alright, from a very quick scan the guides still talk about doing it via Steam console. If that fails, then you'll need to look up the program.

Sure I'll send them to you, just message me on reddit @TriggeredSnake if you and I'll send you them. I've got 0.7.3 - 0.22 (and the possibly fake 0.6.5 that got leaked) and a partially corrupt version of 0.23.5, more modern versions I don't have but they're easier to find.

That sounds useful, I've used that technique for other games (You need external software now unfortunately but it's not too tough) but I never thought to try KSP. I wish I'd discovered it sooner as I have basically all the versions I need now.
