what is the best way to delete massive debris fields?
I started playing again and forgot to check my station, when I did I could not believe how much debris was in space. Is there a mod to delete all of it at once?

I don't know about that, but in the tracking station you can filter what kinds of objects you see. Just click on that top left row of icons so you only see debris, then terminate flight each piece in turn.

You can set the max debris to 0 in the main menu settings.
This removes any debris you create as soon as it leaves physics range.

^This.

Fastest option to clear space garbage. Also usefull for when you want to delete something in space, just rename it and chose it as debris and its deleted when you go back to KSC.

try designing your rockets in a way so they create no space debris or as little as possible, adds some extra challenge :)

^ This. Try designing so that the first stage just -nearly- gets your craft into orbit, so that when you ditch it, it just neatly falls right back to Kerbin to be recycled (with Stage Recovery mod). Then just spend a couple hundred m/s of delta-V to finish getting to orbit and off you go.

Space debris doesn't negatively impact your game in any way. So just don't worry about it?

You can toggle display of debris off in the map so it doesn't clutter your view.

Due to the way physics are processed you can't actually hit a piece of debris, it would likely just pass through you before anything was registered. The odds of it coming any where close to you in the first place are millions and millions to one anyways. They also don't affect performance as they are "on rails" and packed away (unloaded).

maybe lag? xD

I like debris.
Add enough and you'll give Kerbin it's own ring system.

You can trigger milestones like enter into orbit above the sun with debris.
