How to make Stock Sub-Assemblies
I have the direct download version of KSP and can't be bothered to create a KSP forum account so I'm going to ask here.

I have created a Space Station that I really like the look of and saved each module as a separate Sub Assembly. Is there any way to make those Sub Assemblies into stock parts or do I have to Save each as a new ship then transfer the craft files to the stock ships folder?

I'm not sure what you mean by "Make a sub assembly a stock part?"

Like you want to make multiple parts into one part? You are confused on how to use the sub assembly system? You want your sub assemblies available in Sandbox mode?

Can you elaborate on what you are trying to do exactly?

When you build a Rocket you can enter the game files and copy the Craft file to "Kerbal Space Program\Ships\VAB" and I want to know if there is a way to do the same with Sub-Assemblies so that they become stock Sub-Assemblies that are accessible to all save files.

Hope that makes things clearer

Last i checked, subassemblies were saved in your savefolder. Have you tried copying them from there to a new save?

I don't want to have to copy to the new save file every time I create one though that's why I want to just copy it to the main Directory rather than a specific save location.

Sub assemblies are found in the same place as craft files and you can easily copy them over to other save files

I don't think you can?

You could try making a Subassembly folder next to the "Ships" folder in the KSP install directory, but I doubt the game will recognize it or know what to do with it.

I guess I'll just have to save them all as Ships and then transfer them into the Ships folder. Thanks.
