Controls locked out
I'v just done my first fly past of the Mun, got all the science on the way past, left Mun orbit and moved into Kerbal orbit for the return trip. NOW the controls are locked out, the info top left of screen tells me I have no signal, I used a Probododyne OKTO with no aerial, however I got into Kerbal orbit, Mun fly past and back into Kerbal orbit then the controls are locked.
Can any one help please.

Do you still have electric power. you cant control ship probe without electricity.

Yes got power just can't do any thing, it is slowly losing power though.

What's your distance from Kerbin? What's you tracking station level? Do you have extra ground stations?

I hope they did update kerbal so there is no automatically full connection from every piece of kerbin to space.

I'm a bit confused here, I used to play KSP when it first came out then stoped for a year or two, had no problems then. I don't understand why it all worked out to Mun, round Mun then back into Kerbal orbit then locked me out. I've just now tried to launch a contract saterlite and I can't set a manoeuvre node, I used the OKTO both times. Am I being stupid or the game wanting something I dont understand.

do you have multiple ground stations enabled? do you have mission control and tracking sation upgraded to level 2? do you have a strong enough antenna? do you have solar panels?

Both! :D:

KSP brought in commnet, a new way of communicating with probes. All probes have internal antenna, but they're super weak.

So; you can either create a small relay network (can be as simple as launching a single relay sat into a high apo, low peri, polar orbit around kerbin)
or
You can disable commnet entirely using game settings, so probes work like they used to.
Press Esc, you'll see "Difficulty settings: Normal" (or whatever) click that and it'll open a box to change the settings. Commnet is in there somewhere.

Thanks Toaste, had no idea I'll give that a go.

I think you have no connection to you KSP Center, too.
(You can see in upper left corner if you have connection or not)
