D-v / TWR needed for a Dres return mission?
How much d-v do I need for the transfer/plane change? And to get into Dres orbit and home again.

It can take around 1800 roughly to get a good encounter about 1500 for the transfer and about 200-300 for the inclination change. But I don't kown about getting an orbit or return.

plant a node on LKO, add inclination node further down the trajectory, finish with another node in Dres SOI to find out circularization costs, compare Dres gravity to known bodies - Mun and Duna I guess thus finding out approximate orbital velocity and approximate landing costs.
Return is the same in the opposite direction. Except launching to Dres orbit is slightly cheaper than landing due to no hovering involved. 50..100m/s less. And you may use aerobraking at Kerbin on return, so no capture/slowdown/circularization costs eventually. Depends on heat management.

You can get basic info on bodies clicking on them and then info button bottom right in Tracking station or using map mode and the same button on upper right side.

The cheat sheet on the wiki[wiki.kerbalspaceprogram.com] suggests, starting from an 80 km circular orbit around Kerbin, it'll take 2,910 m/s dV to achieve a circular 12 km orbit over Dres. That's 1010 for the inclination, 610 for the intercept, and 1,290 for the orbit. I'd guess about as much is needed to get back, as you can aerobrake in Kerbin's atmosphere. So about roughly 6 km/s dV.
