Manned ship loss of control
Title says it all. I have a ship where I have undocked from my preliminary Minmus staion and am tring to retro burn to land on Kerbin. However once I retro burn to a Kerbin Orbit I lose all control. The ship is manned with a level 2 pilot but it acts like a probe with not comms. What is going on?

It doesn’t work without powah!

I have the same problem. The ship is manned. The ship has power. The ship is lifting off at duna. The whole game just freezes. No controls, no nothing. I can only wait for the damned thing to run out of fuel. This happens every time I try to lift off from duna.

I can't even use my last stage to try and recover because when I go back to the space center it just freezes again and I can't do anything. The screen just freezes.

do you have a pilot on the ship or is it just a scientist or engineer?

Yes.

You need an actual “pilot”.

Yes.

That answer was a bit vague. I.E. Q: "Did that woman jump off the cliff or did you push her off?" A: Yes

It was a more of a logical answer. Did you have two apples or two oranges? A: Yes.

Meaning both.

In this case I had one of each, a pilot an engineer and a scientist.

I have heard several people mention this after the update, although I haven't encountered it, so it could be a legitimate bug. Do you have a good enough antenna? Do you have relays set up? Are you sure you are not still in time warp?
Attarum Apr 20, 2019 @ 5:15pm
No time Warp, It was a sandbox testing my round-trip duna rocket. There were no relays, no need of course. You don't need relays for a manned craft.

That didn't sound logical to me. Maybe "Did you have two apples AND two oranges?" "Yes." That means both. But now we're just comparing apples to oranges.

At any rate I wonder if they didn't tweak the Comms System a bit. It always seemed a bit forgiving to me. Maybe check the patch notes.

Did you have some sort of probe core on board also? Maybe the game is overriding the pilot and using the probe core?

Sorry @Belsamber650. I don't mean to hijack your thread but this pertains to you also. Feel free to jump in anytime.

No probe core. And it makes no sense for kerbals being unable to use controls if they are out of radio range. Not to mention I can take off just fine. The freezing doesn't happen until several thousand km up.

I'm stuck watching my poor spacecraft waste all its fuel. THIS IS A BUG. Full stop. There are no extenuating circumstances.

When this happens try Alt-F12 to bring up debug console. Control Locks then Clear All Control Locks. Hopefully you can regain control.
